Description: MAb VU-11D1 reacts with MUC1, a large transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on the ductal surface of normal glandular epithelia. The dominant epitope of MAb VU-11D1 is the 7-mer TSAPDTR of the MUC1 tandem repeat as established with 'epitope fingerprinting'. The'extra cellular domain of MUC1 largely consists of a highly conserved, O-glycosylated 20 amino acids tandem repeat which can occur 30-100 times per molecule depending on the length of the allele involved. In the vast majority of human carcinomas this protein is up regulated and poorly glycosylated and appears on the cell surface in a non-polarized fashion. |

Description: This MAb reacts with MUC1. The dominant epitope of this MAb has not yet been determined. MUC1 is a large cell surface mucin glycoprotein expressed by most glandular and ductal epithelial cells and some hematopoietic cell lineages. It is expressed on most secretory epithelium, including mammary gland and some hematopoietic cells. It is expressed abundantly in lactating mammary glands and over expressed abundantly in 90% breast carcinomas and metastases. Transgenic MUC1 has been shown to associate with all four c-erbB receptors and localize with c-erbB1 (EGFR) in lactating glands. The MUC1 gene contains seven exons and produces several different alternatively spliced variants. The major expressed form of MUC1 uses all seven exons and is a type 1 transmembrane protein with a large extracellular tandem repeat domain. The tandem repeat domain is highly O glycosylated and alterations in glycosylation have been shown in epithelial cancer cells. Antibody to EMA is useful as a pan-epithelial marker for detecting early metastatic loci of carcinoma in bone marrow or liver. |

RQ6091 | NSJ Bioreagents | 100 ug | 419 EUR |
Description: Mucin 1, cell surface associated (MUC1) or polymorphic epithelial mucin (PEM) is a mucin encoded by the MUC1 gene in humans. This gene encodes a membrane-bound protein that is a member of the mucin family. Mucins are O-glycosylated proteins that play an essential role in forming protective mucous barriers on epithelial surfaces. It is mapped to 1q22. Mucin 1 is a transmembrane mucin normally expressed on the apical borders of secretory epithelial cells. Overexpression of Mucin 1 is often associated with colon, breast, ovarian, lung and pancreatic cancers. The protein serves a protective function by binding to pathogens and also functions in a cell signaling capacity. Mucin 1 stimulated ESR1-mediated transcription and contributed to estradiol-mediated growth and survival of breast cancer cells. This gene also can suppress pulmonary innate immunity, and its anti-inflammatory activity may play an important modulatory role during microbial infection. |

V2370-100UG | NSJ Bioreagents | 100 ug | 499 EUR |
Description: This Epithelial Membrane Antigen / EMA antibody, also called MUC1 and Mucin-1, recognizes the full-length protein in a glycosylation-independent manner and can bind to the fully glycosylated protein. The dominant epitope of this mAb is APDTR in the VNTR region. It reacts with the core peptide of the EMA protein, which is a member of a family of mucin glycoproteins that are characterized by high carbohydrate content, O-linked oligosaccharides, high molecular weight (>200kDa) and an amino acid composition rich in serine, threonine, proline and glycine. The core protein contains a domain of 20 amino-acid tandem repeats that functions as multiple epitopes for the mAb. Incomplete glycosylation of some tumor-associated mucins may lead to variable unmasking of the multiple peptide epitopes leading to the observed differences in staining intensity between normal and malignant tissues. This EMA antibody reacts with both normal and malignant epithelia of various tissues including breast and colon. |

Description: This MAb reacts with MUC1, a large transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on the ductal surface of normal glandular epithelia. It is used as tracer agent in CA15.3 assays. The extracellular domain of MUC1 largely consists of a highly conserved, O-glycosylated 20 amino acids tandem repeat which can occur 30-100 times per molecule depending on the length of the allele involved. In the vast majority of human carcinomas this protein is up-regulated and poorly glycosylated and appears on the cell surface in a non-polarized fashion. The dominant epitope of this MAb involves both amino acids as well as sugar moieties. Its epitope is destroyed by desialylation i.e. treatment with Neuraminidase. |

Description: Mucin-1 is a large cell surface mucin glycoprotein expressed by most glandular and ductal epithelial cells and some hematopoietic cell lineages. It is expressed on most secretory epithelium, including mammary gland and some hematopoietic cells. It is expressed abundantly in lactating mammary glands and over expressed in >90% breast carcinomas and metastases. The transgenic protein has been shown to associate with all four c-erbB receptors and localize with c-erbB1 (EGFR) in lactating glands. The gene contains seven exons and produces several different alternatively spliced variants. The major expressed form of the protein uses all seven exons and is a type 1 transmembrane protein with a large extracellular tandem repeat domain. The tandem repeat domain is highly O glycosylated and alterations in glycosylation have been shown in epithelial cancer cells. Mucin-1 antibody is useful as a pan-epithelial marker for detecting early metastatic loci of carcinoma in bone marrow or liver. |

Description: This MAb recognizes full-length MUC1 in a glycosylation-independent manner and can bind to the fully glycosylated protein. The dominant epitope of this MAb is APDTR in the VNTR region. It reacts with the core peptide of the MUC1 protein, which is a member of a family of mucin glycoproteins that are characterized by high carbohydrate content, O-linked oligosaccharides, high molecular weight (>200kDa) and an amino acid composition rich in serine, threonine, proline and glycine. This MAb reacts with both normal and malignant epithelia of various tissues including breast and colon. |

V2721-100UG | NSJ Bioreagents | 100 ug | 499 EUR |
Description: This mAb recognizes full-length MUC1/Mucin-1/Epithelial Marker Antigen/EMA in a glycosylation-independent manner and can bind to the fully glycosylated protein. This mAb reacts with both normal and malignant epithelia of various tissues including breast and colon. |

Description: This mAb reacts with MUC1/Mucin-1/Epithelial Marker Antigen/EMA. It is expressed abundantly in lactating mammary glands and over expressed abundantly in >90% breast carcinomas and metastases. |

Description: The mucin antigen recognized by Mc-5 is a glycosylated molecule with a molecular mass of 400 kD. The sequence to which this antibody binds is Thr-Arg-Pro-Ala-Pro. Although EMA is primarily located in mammary gland epithelium, other normal epithelia (e.g., lung) will also react against EMA antibody. Staining, however, is the strongest in mammary epithelia. The combination of positive staining for keratin with negative EMA can be used to phenotype the above-mentioned epithelial tumors. Recognizes the mucin antigen that is present in most epithelial tissues (breast, colonic, bronchial, gastric, etc.) This antibody does not recognize myelopoietic, lymphopoietic, fibroblasts or sarcomatous cells. |

The N-terminal alpha subunit and the C-terminal beta subunit. . The alpha subunit has cell adhesive properties. It can act both as an adhesion and an anti-adhesion protein. MUC1 may provide a protective layer on epithelial cells against bacterial and enzyme attack. The beta subunit contains a C-terminal domain, which is involved in cell signaling, through phosphorylations and protein-protein interactions. |

V9266-100UG | NSJ Bioreagents | 100ug | 499 EUR |
Description: Mucin-1 may provide a protective layer on epithelial cells against bacterial and enzyme attack. In immunohistochemical assays, it superbly stains routine formalin/paraffin carcinomas. Anti-Mucin-1 antibody is a useful marker for staining many carcinomas. It stains normal and neoplastic cells from various tissues, including mammary epithelium, sweat glands and colorectal carcinoma. Hepatocellular carcinoma, adrenal carcinoma and embryonal carcinomas are consistently Mucin-1 negative, so keratin positivity with negative Mucin-1 favors one of these tumors. Mucin-1 is frequently positive in meningioma, which can be useful when distinguishing it from other intracranial neoplasms such as schwannomas. Antibody to Mucin-1 is useful as a pan-epithelial marker for detecting early metastatic loci of carcinoma in bone marrow or liver. |
